Dr. John H. Lockhart was the son of James Carter Lockhart, who served in the Civil War. At the time of the photo, Dr. Lockhart was practicing medicine in Honaker. A photo of Dr. John H. Lockhart appears in Russell County Heritage Volume 1. James Carter Lockhart moved to Russell County from Roane Co., WV in 1886.
