Served in Company D of the 37th Virginia Infantry, enlisted 5/30/61 in Estellville. Present 1/5/62. Absent, fell behind on march, "left at Winchester 5/30/1862". Present 7/12/62. Captured 5/12/64 at Spotsylvania Court House. Sent from Belle Plain to Fort Delaware on 5/20/64. Released on oath 6/20/65. Description: sallow complection, gray eyes, dark hair. Buried in Campbell Family Cemetery near Lebanon.
