I, Francis M. Ball Private Co. I 22nd Va Cavalry Regiment, C. S. Army, do hereby give this my PAROLE OF HONOR, that I will not take up arms against the United States Government, until I am regularly exchanged; and that if I am permitted to remain at my home, I will conduct myself as a good and peaceable citizen, and will respect the laws in force where I reside, and will do nothing to the detriment of, or in opposition to, the U. S. Government.

Sworn to and subscribed before me, this 12th day of June, 1865. Wm. Gramm, Major & Provost Marshal.
