Card 14 I CERTIFY, That the within named William Barton a private of Captain T. N. Smiths Company (I) of the 37th Regiment of Va. Vols., born in Russell Co. in the State of Virginia, aged 37 years, five feet 10 inches high, fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and by occupation a farmer was enlisted by Capt. S. Hunt at New Garden on the 2d day of May 1861, to serve one year and is now entitled to dischage by reason of expiration of his term of service. The said William Barton was last paid by Capt. Cole to include the 30th day of April, 1862, and has pay due from that date to the present date. [Remainder of pay voucher. Signed by name.] |
