Letter mention: Gilmer family

Notes: Father owned 23 slaves. Wife was a widow by 1920. Father claims he gave him gold to escape to the North. Father also claims Charles M. Browning had lost his mind by 1878. LVA roster of 1884 says "yes he lives more dead than alive." Wife's obituary says he died in Nebraska.
