Robert D. Burdine private in Captain John H. Candler's Company (D) of the 48th Regiment of the Confederate States Army was enlisted by Captain John H. Candler at Camp Beckam in Russell County, in the state of Virginia, on the 25th of June 1861; he was born in Russell County in the state of Virginia, and is eighteen years of age; he is 5 feet high, fair complexion blue eyes, light hair and by occupation when enlisted a farmer. During the last two months he has been unfit for duty sixty days.

I certify that I have carefully examined Private Robert D. Burdine Capt. Candler's company (D) 48 regt Va.
