Card 7 I certify that the within named Harvy Honaker a corporal of Capt. Robert E. Cowan's company (I) of the 37th Regt of Va Volunteers born in the county of Russell in the state of Virginia aged 27 years 5 feet 10 inches high fair complexion blue eyes dark hair and by occupation when enlisted a carpenter, was enlisted by Capt. S. Hunt at New Garden Russell County Virginia on the 2nd day of May eighteen hundred and sixty one to serve for one year and is now entitled to a discharge by reason of disability. Card 8 Harvey Honaker of Capt. Cowan's Company (I) of the 37th Regt of Confederate States of America was enlisted by Capt. S. Hunt of the 37th Regt of Virginia at New Garden on the 2nd day of May to serve one year he was born in Russell County in the State of Va 27 years of age 5 feet 10 inches high fair complexion blue eyes dark hair and by occupation when enlisted a carpenter. During the last two months said soldier has been unfit for duty thirty days, the cause of the Disability of said soldier originate from a fractured leg received before his enlistment. Robt. E. Cowan Capt Co. (G) 37th Regt Va Vols Approved T. V. Williams Major [...] 37th Va Reg I certify that I have carefully examined Corporal Harvey Honaker Co. I 37th Va Regt of Vol and find him incapable of performing the duties of a soldier because of the fracture of his left leg received before enlisting, attended with a discharge of pus and threatened with protrusion of the bone.
