Card 10 I CERTIFY, That the within named Charles Short, a private of Captain T. J. Smith's Company (I) of the 37th Regiment of VA Vols, born in Co. of Grayson in the State of Virginia, aged 37 years, 6 feet, ____ inches high, fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and by occupation a farmer was enlisted by Capt. S. Hunt, at New Garden, Va., on the 2nd day of May 1861, to serve one year and is now entitled to discharge by reason of the expiration of his term of service. The said Short was last paid by Capt. Cole to include the 28th day of February, 1862, and has pay due from that date to the present date. Commutation for six months clothing 25.00. [Remainder of pay voucher, due $76.39. Signed by mark.] |
